Computer speed is inconsistent

Hi, Tom

I just got time warners basic cable/internet package. and I connected Linksys Wireless router to an RCA DCM425 cabe/internet router.. I cant seem to play XBOX online and have my wife watch videos on a laptop because I get real serious lag and I am subsequently KICKED off my game....

CAN YOU HELP WITH THIS PROB.??? THX.

Is the Xbox wired the the router, or wireless? If it is wireless have your wife move the laptop to a different location to see if it helps.

XBOX is wired to router....

Do you only lag when your wife starts a new movie, or the whole time she is viewing a movie?

It sounds like she is taking all the bandwidth. What is your max download speed for your cable?
What movie sites does she use? Maybe she can manually set the player to use a lower bandwidth to play nice with your games
