Thoroughly budget upgrade for intermediate gaming PC

Hello there! this is what i'm going to combine:

Core I5 2400
ASRock H61M-VS
Corsair XMS 2x4 Gb

Along with the above I will be using a XFX 9800 GTX+ graphics card and a Corsair 550w PSU. The monitor is 1080p.
The reason for these particular parts is the price here in Denmark: 353 for the CPU, Mobo and RAM.
I could upgrade my current K8 4800+/DDR1 but it just seems futile...
Single GFX, No OC. and not solely Gaming, but it will probably be the most demanding task for this one.
At some point when the economy will allow me i'll buy another GFX but until then, doe's all this sound reasonable?

EDIT: I don't prefer any brands above others (AMD/Intel, ASRock/ASUS...) and i am appearently not allowed to edit my own post.
Also, I'm using some 320 Gb 300 Gb/s hard drives.
