Is my PSU good enough for overclocking?

Hi, is my 500W PSU with 41A at +12V good enough to overclock my CPU to 4.1-4.2 Ghz?

I'm planning to buy Cooler Master V8 CPU cooler, is it a good choice?

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912(6x 120 mm fans)

More about good overclocking
  1. i honestly think you should be ok, just be sure to run prime 95 for a couple of hours after, the thing is a psu generally can go above its rated power, anyway if you have any problem you can always just roll back your oc..... wait i just saw your graphics card, hmmm, psu going sbove rating still holds true, doesnt hurt to try i think you should be ok

What is the make/model of the PSU?
At full load your sytem is probably only drawing around 225-250W. Take a look at this system with a highly overclocked, power-hungry i7 965: http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-6850-6870-review/10

If your PSU is good quality then it should be sufficient for your OC. What are your CPU temps at full load? Ambient temps?
