I5 or I7 Processor?

Should I get the I5 or the I7 processor in my laptop as there is £140 difference: The I5 processor is I5-2450M and the I7 is I7-3612. I will be playing games like The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 and the Laptop will have 8GB RAM and a Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 7670M inside. Could you tell me which to get? The I5 is a Sandy Bridge and I7 Ivy Bridge, I5 - 2.5GHz I7 - 2.1GHz but both can go upto 3.0GHz Many Thanks

If your gamings mostly then get the i5, if you are image/video editing aswell then get the i7...

Get the i5 and opt. for better graphics : )

Definitely i5.

For what you are doing the Intel® Core™ i5 would be the good for your needs. However if you were doing something that more multi-threaded then you would want to use one of the Intel Core i7 with the QM on the end, like the Intel Core i7-3820QM.

If all you are concerned about is playing games then just be aware that the vast majority of games only use 2 cores, there is a pretty small number of games which can make use 3 cores, and an even smaller number of games capable of using 4 cores.

The Sims 2 and 3 only makes use of 1 core.
