Hi Guys,

Looking for a case to house my upcoming new gaming rig (ivybridge/gtx560). I was quite taken with the Cooler Master Storm Enforcer after reading a review here but then, as is always the case, I find an equally damning review on another well respected hardware review site.

SO hit me with your recommendations, looking for bottom mounted PSU position, good air flow/cable management. Would prefer larger quieter fans. No water cooling needed. Price between £50-80 maybe a little more.

Much appreciated.

The carbide series from corsair are excellent cases, the best being the 500r, which should be right at the upper end of your listed price range. The 500r has excellent air flow, good cable management and four included fans.

The Rosewill Challenger is a Toms Hardware recommended buy, I have two of these and they are very inexpensive and it shows in the quality, but for less than$50.00 USD you can't go wrong. Also the Antec 300 is not a bad case, I have only one of these but the build quality is a lot better than Rosewill.

Rosewill not available here in the UK, but +1 to the Corsair Carbide series any of these 3 are great cases.

After looking at the suggested cases I have to say I'm leaning towards the Fractal Arc Midi. The low number of 5.25" bays means that intake fan can be mounted nice and high on the front.

The Carbide 400 looks pretty neat also but the fans aren't as large and price is a little higher in comparison. Plus I don't think you can remove any HDD cages in that model. I think if I was overclocking I'd probably look at the 500 though ... that 200mm side fan is obscene :D

This maybe out of your price range but I would recommend the 650D by Corsair. That, or the 600T, also by Corsair. I'm almost positive they have the same innards with different shells. The 600T has a plastic shell while the 650D is all various Metals.

These cases have fantastic cable management options and look great to boot. Also the hard drive cages are removable.

I don't know whether you are into the whole side panel window but these are the only cases I've seen that do it right; they have this great bezel around the window that is just delightful.

All in all I would recommend spending a little bit more on your case. There is nothing worse than being restricted to what you can do with your build because of the case. And having to replace a case is just a pain in a$$.

ARRRRRGH! INDECISION ... now looking at the 300r instead of the Arc.

@halfblazed - thanks for the input but I really can't justify the expense of the higher end cases. I used to always spec everything like I'd expand all bays and overclock everything. After many builds I've come to the conclusion I just don't do those things :)

Buy the corsair 500r but the rear 120mm fan is a bit noisey, i removed the side 200mm fan and attached the rear 120 to the fan controller
