Hi,
Hopefully this is the right area to ask this question. I
configure and customize my operating system so much (too
much?) that sometimes it gets me into trouble.
One thing I cannot figure out is when I go to 'properties'
from the start button, or right clicking the task bar and
choosing 'properties' I get an error message that it is
cancelled due to restrictions in effect.
I have opened up gpedit as the admin and see nothing. Same
for the registry, everything seems fine.
Any clue where exactly to look?
My other question is entries in the event viewer; countless
of these, well over a hundred;
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7001
Date: 12/8/2004
Time: 10:47:51 Early
User: N/A
Computer: UPPER
Description:
The Remote Access Connection Manager service depends on the
Telephony service which failed to start because of the
following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is
disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated
with it.
