Recently I purchased a Radeon HD 7970 3GB video card, but when I hook my monitor up to it (Sceptre X246W-1080P LCD Monitor) I get "No Signal"

I use a DVI to DVI cable and have set my monitor to DVI, HDMI, and VGA, and they all yield the same No Signal result. When I hook my monitor up to the on-board video, it works fine. It also works fine with an older Radeon card.

Can anyone help me out?

What power supply do you have?

Did you plug in both 8 pin power cables from the psu?

Not sure why you would need a 1050w psu, as a 500w would be sufficient, but maybe it croaked?

Have you tried different pci-e power cables?

All of the components are new.

Is there a way that I can check to see if my video card is recognized by my PC, even though the monitor is not hooked into it?

I don't know what mobo you have but some basic things you could try is look in bios to see if you need to change it from onboard to PCI-E video adaptor.

You could also try pulling the cmos battery for 5 minutes, then put it back in and see if that works.
