Any way to get a CPU/Memory Usage "gadget" back on Windows 8 Desktop?

I really miss the CPU/Memory usage gadget and can't find a way of getting anything similar back onto the Windows 8 desktop. I'm new to this OS and I figure I am just missing it somehow, but I'd prefer to have it on the desktop rather than go to the Task Mgr to view everything. Thanks!
