Hey lads and lasses, I currently have a k62-300 and i'm wanting to buy the bare minimum amount of components to upgrade. I'll probably get a 1gig+ Athlon and accompanying motherboard. My question is.....can i still use my SDRAM pc/133??? If not, what other memory standard will i have to use and what are its benefits?? Thanks to all....

If you have PC100 or PC133 SDRAM (it sounds like you have PC133), you can generally expect it to work fine on a VIA KT133, KT133A, or ALi MAGiK1 chipset.

Also, if you can do so at no extra cost, try to get a T-bird with an AXIA stepping. If you're handpicking from a bin, you can spot these because they have the word "AXIA" etched on top of the core. These T-birds will generally overclock very well if you are so inclined.

Yeah i do have pc133. On the boards you mentioned, can i upgrade to DDR RAM if and when i feel inclined to do so and, more importantly, will i be able to notice the improvement?
