Replace a 220w power supply with a 400w

Hello, I have a rather low end computer I thought I could upgrade easily, but it seems I need a 400 watt power supply instead of the 220 it came with, is it as easy as buying a new one and switching it out or is there technical difficulties in doing that?

P.S. sorry about being a noob but everybody has to start somewhere.

If its a standard atx psu then yes just buy and swap...
