Opteron versus Sossaman

Hello everyone,


I was wondering if someone could help me out on the following issue:

We are developing an application with a lot of scientific calculation in a machine with an Opteron 2.6GHz (2 cores).

The operational platform will have an Intel Xeon Sossaman 1.6 GHz processor (2 cores).

How much is expected to be the timing performance degradation of this kind of applications between Opteron and Sossaman? (if any)

since sossamon is based off of yonah, and yonah and opteron have a similar performance per clock, I'd guess performance may be close to halved beacuse of the clock speed difference.

someone correct me if I'm wrong.
