Hi,

I'm building a budget system ( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fkF5 ) and I don't know which case to choose. I was thinking about the Cooler Master HAF 912, but I don't think it is going to be very future-proof because it lacks USB 3.0 on the front. Is this something I won't end up needing? If so, any cases you would recommend? Thanks guys and gals :D

Here are some with the front panel USB 3.0 and that option seems to make the case cost a bit more so if your in a low budget situation then it may be hard to fit a case with front panel USB 3.0.

An option that you can consider is to get the case that you want regardless of the usb ports and after you can add a usb bay device with usb 3.0 ports if you decide that you really do need them. This can be done at any time since it fits into a 5 1/2 bay.

SYBA SY-HUB50044 USB 3.0 Multi-Function Hub and Card Reader for 3.5" or 5.25" Open Bay
$26.99

so... HAF 912 with USB 3 in drive bay or one of these? Also, how is the Raidmax Smilodon, Rosewill Challenger (USB 3 version) and Rosewill Future? I know its alot to ask for, but you are obviously more knowledgeable.

Well ,a lot of people on a low budget are drawn to the cheaper cases and if your aware that thay are just that then you could be fine with any of those. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for and when I am looking for parts I tend to look at ones that are made by quality brand names that specialize in a certian ares.
What I mean is that whan looking for a cpu I tend to go with Intel , however in a motherboard I don't go with Intel but with a brand like Asus or Gigabyte or MSI . With ram I look at Corsair or G-Skill but with power supply I don't go with Corsair and I go with Seasonic or Antec. Raidmax and Rosewill don't specialize in anything and they will put thier name on anything that they can so I don't give thier brand name much weight at all on anything. Except if you want something that is low priced then they are the ones to go with.
So if your budget is low and your stugelling to make it work then you have to go with what you can and if the Raidmax or Rosewill cases fit that price then go with one of tham.
Th Raidmax Smildoon looks interesting in the way the case can come apart and the side fan bracket is also nice and it comes with a power supply which should save you some money. Although Raidmax psu is not a quality psu but as I said before when on a low budget you have to go with what you can aford.

Fractal Design Define R3 / R4
1 x Fractal Design 120mm Silent Series R2 Case Fan
2 x Fractal Design 140mm Silent Series R2

Move the rear fan to the front case and fit the 120mm in its place and then add the two top 140mm fans.

Very good cooling, quiet, plenty of space for big coolers like Hyper 212 Evo and nice cable management.

I just built a 3570K+ GTX 560ti, for a friend and am I jealous, too bloody right !
