KVM but without monitor?

i was wondering if i can use a KVM without using the monitor option, but instead using the monitor plugs on the PCs. See all i need is way of connecting my 2 PCs via single mouse and single keyboard. As such i will simply connect my 2 computers with only 1 mouse/keyboard set, keeping every other aspect of the 2 systems the same. Little help, anyone?

It works for me - I use two monitors, one on the KVM and the other not and the mouse and keyboard continue to work whichever screen is used for the display.

- and your other display? Is it affected in any way by the KVM? i mean in terms of picture quality? (thnx for the help, here, man)

As far as I can tell there's no adverse effect - it takes graphics directly from the machine it's plugged into so there's no reason for lack of quality.
