My friend suggested the Turtle Beach XP500s. But they are EXPENSIVE! Woooo... wow.

Looking for something more mid-range that is still very much "worth the money". I tried to do a search on this forum to get help but I can't find the search menu! Also couldn't find a dedicated forum for headsets!

Can recommend the corsair 1500s once you do the bass tweak an work out how to set 5.1 an 7.1 correctly.

No Senheisers? Or whatever they are called? I thought they were the "king" of gaming headsets?

Senheiser may not have the same specs as these others and may be geared for telecommunications and office workers. The gaming headsets have the 50mm drivers for deep bass and rumbling explosions.

If you just want to listen and not have a mictophone attached you can go with Bose or V-Moda.

This is purely for gaming. BF3 at the moment is what it will be used for. I appreciate EVERY single response and suggest. But I am SO audio illiterate that a purchase like this scares me! I LOVE the sound of my Logitech Z5500s and HT Omega Clario II. I love cranking the volume up and listening to the explosions and gunfire for this game. Amazing audio. But I would like to do the headset thing since every says it's a much better option for gaming. But there are soooo many options and choices. I have no idea which direction to go in!

The Corsair 1500 bass tweak? No idea what that means!

A headset with a 50mm driver is what you want to get for those head ratteling sounds.

$69.99 and a $10 rebate makes the final price $59.99.

If you just want to hear the game and don't need a microphone then get these , I have them and think they give an awsome sound.

The Corsair Vengeance 1500s have VERY good reviews! But how do they compare to let's say... The Turtle Beach XP500. Or the $240 Sennheisers? Is it good for the price, or just good in general? Now I am now saying I expect the $70 headset to be better. But wondering if it's night and day.

LMFAO @ $1500 headphones! hahahahaha

I really appreciate the links. The Corsair 1500s are heavily the favorite. Reviews are very promising and the price is more than doable. I was looking at spending $150 for a gaming headset.

I can't seem to find an audio comparison between the 1500s and 2000s. I have found both reviews and both are great. But none directly comparing the two!

The Corsair 2000 is wireless and I would prefer wired myself. So you may be paying for the wireless option and the actual parts on the headphons are the same.
When the 1500 came out I was looking at it myself but went with another option. The price then was $109.
What you don't like the $1500 headphones???

the 2000s are good sound i here but for some reason the drivers dont let a lot of games do the 5.1/7.1 surround thing that there advertised to the 1500s dont have this problem. the bass tweak is a setting in the equaliser to get more bass an still have good sound quality. theres even a review that compares the sound to a pair of akg702s an the a £250 pair of head phones.

I still like a wired head set since you don't have to always be changing the battery and being aggrevated when the battery gets low and starts killing the sound quality.
The Razer Megalodon is a quality set you could look at.

Then there is the Razer Tiamat which I am looking at myself.

I think the Vengeance 1500s get the win. Thinkcomputers review said the sound is amazing. That's what I like to hear! Thank you so much!!

There's no way to get the 1500s to work with your XBox, is there?
