Looking for new GPU, need advice

Hi everyone,

My old 8800 GTS suddenly died (badly) last night, after 24/7 for 5 years and 3 days :(
It works perfectly fine again this morning  , but I think it's time to look for new GPU ASAP.

Information:
- I have $250 budget max for the GPU (I'm from South East Asia, so I'll just buy it from local store, don't worry about shipping and tax) for convenience reason, just use US Price.
- Prefer NVidia GeForce.
- Mostly for watching HD movies and Gaming (Starcraft 2 and some others, but not that graphic hunger), sometimes do video editting.
- Online 24/7, sometimes used as private server
- No OC
- No SLI
- Monitor Res 1280x1024
- Will be purchased ASAP (2 weeks latest)

Here's my spec :
- MoBo Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G (Rev 1.1)
- Procie Q6600 @2.4 GHz
- Corsair 4x1 GB DDR2
- PSU Enlight Blacksilver 630W
- Fan Thermaltake Duorb
- 2 DVD RW Pioneer
- 1 WDC 500 GB

Most of the recent reviews said about GTX 560 Ti as one of the best value, but I think it's overkill.
Next thing Im looking at GTX 550 Ti, but i still have no idea.

Please suggest a video card, little botneck can still be tolerated!
Hoping the GPU can play most of the games for the next couple of years (doesn't need to be on highest setting, normal would be fine)

Feel free to ask regarding additional info.

Many thanks! :)

560Ti is the best option at that price.

The 550Ti don't worth the money in the same price range. In the same price range you can buy 6870 , and is much better then 550Ti .

I agree with you when you say the 560 TI will be overkill, however the 550ti will be underpowerd, Just go in the middle and get a 560. :)

Thanks a lot guys,

After some thoughts, I may give ATI a shot for the first time.
I'm down with Sapphire HD 6870, hope it won't disappoint me ;)
