USB and Parallel connection

I have a printer that I need hooked up to two seperate computers. I can't share it on one of the PC's, nor can it be hooked up to our JetDirect box. Rather than purchasing an A-B parallel box, would it be possible to hook it up to one computer on the parallel port and the other on the USB port? Would that cause any sort of problems? The printer is an HP 1220C, and the PC's will be Win2K for USB and WinNT for parallel.

What's a signature? Oh, those words that show up after all my comments? I don't need one of those!

I'm thinking no but I'm not familiar with that printer. Usually printers will allow only one live port.

Are both PCs on a network? If they are whats wrong with just sharing the printer?

Due to our corporate restrictions (and there are plenty of them, the security on the Win2K builds is not very fun to deal with), we can't share the printer between the two computers.

Listen Jackass. I said that we couldn't share it. I didn't say it couldn't be parallel on one and USB on another. Why don't you read the posts before you decide to belittle people. =o)

Back off pole-smoker! I was giving you a hard time! Or couldn't you understand the meaning of the wink? ;) It's a shame... All that printer knowledge and not a shred of common sense!

Well apparently you missed the smile =o) at the end of my post, bong blower, and you would have seen that I was joking too. All that medical training and you don't even know that your own eyes are bad. Such a tragedy. LOSER!

Well, this will be my last post, because I don't want to help you boost your status on THG. Besides, you are already a BOOB so you don't need my help. However, I figured I could try to get my markup working, so I will practice it once, then there will be silence, unless we get a miricle and you have something intelligent  to say. Anyway, take off hoser.

Actually, KBear is a screwball, fruity as a nutcake. When I heard he had two brains, I figured that I could get some intelligent conversation. Imagine my dismay when I heard that one of his was lost, and the other was out looking for it. =o)

I am at this time perfectly normal. I did go insane once. It did me no end of good!!!
