Hello everyone, I want to built a secondary computer based on these two processor, but I don't know which one is better. I'm gonna need a new motherboard for this one. I got an old E8600 here, it's socket is 775 while the G630 (I'm gonna buy it for $63) is 1155. I'm gonna pair it with gtx 550 ti. I'm gonna play games in medium-low settings. I can't decide which one I'm gonna use. By the way, I don't need any components or peripherals, I already have them. Thanks for your help in advance :)  .

*Note: This rig will only be a decent PC, not a high end PC.

The E8600 actually outperforms the G620 (they didn't have the 630 for comparison), but not by much, and if you get the 8600, your upgrade path goes to hell on a socket 775. Not to mention most 775 boards use DDR2, and 1155 uses DDR3, so I'd go for the G630 then upgrade it down the road to a Core series.

Thanks for your reply :)  . I'm gonna go for G630. By the way, can you suggest me a good video card worth $120?
