HTPC for around $500 00

Hi all! I'm looking to build a solid HTPC for entertainment purposes mainly. I intend to download and stream media to my HDTV (Netflix, Hulu, etc.), browse the internet, do some educational games with my child and play the occasional game (World of Warcraft mostly...nothing more graphic intensive than that). I plan on putting this rig on my HDTV stand and there is plenty of air space so things shouldn't get too hot. I've been out of the scene for a while so I have no idea what is good and what is junk anymore. Websites, tips, tricks and the like are much appreciated. About the only thing I've decided on is the case (nMEDIAPC HTPC5000B) and that is because I like the look of it and it should give me PLENTY of room. Thank you for your time!!!

I guess I should also add that a TV tuner card and a DVDR/W drive shouldn't be included. I refuse to get cable/dish TV and most of the things I like to watch, I can find online. Thanks again!
