Installed RAM and Monitor gets no signal

I have XP and just upgraded my RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB and now my monitor does not receive a signal. The computer sounds like it boots fine.

Do you get a single beep when it Posts? I would pull that one stick back out and see if it boots, If it does, reseat the stick, making sure it's fully seated, and try to boot again.

It sounds like the new stick is either bad or not seated right. It is not that uncommon for a stick of ram being bad right out of the box.
