I know its a bit of a stretch, but I'm trying to build a gaming rig for around $400 to $450. I don't have much money to spend, so this is the extent of my funds.

Budget Range: $400 - $450

System Usage: Mainly BF3, some web surfing, watching videos, etc...

Parts Not Required: monitor, operating system, cpu cooler (I bought a Corsair A70 on sale)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: us.ncix, newegg, any good quality store

Country: United States

Additional Comments: I would prefer an AMD cpu, but i'm not sure thats possible at this price range. I've heard their apu's require some pretty expensive ram to reach their full potential as well.

Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated.

Take a look at this I wouldn't go with an AMD at the moment they way their CPUs are for gaming look here.

Fourth tier on intel is the Pentium G860, G850, G840, G630. Sandy bridge CPUs.

Equal to some of AMDs 4,6,and 8 core CPUs. Save the money

FX-8120, -6100, -4100
Phenom II X6 1055T, 1045T
Phenom II X4 945, 940, 920, 910, 910e, 810
Phenom II X3 Black Edition 720, 740

With that said give me a moment to make you a build.
