Thanks for the reply Why_Me.

PSU - I already have a Corsair TX750 on another box, and it works really well. So probably going to stick with it.
OR will get a Corsair TX750 v2. The only thing I am worried about is AnandTech says the 12V is not on a single rail on 750v2 although the sticker says so. Would have preferred a single rail setup for the PSU, since I am going to stick a gtx 680 in there that requires 38A on 12V rail.

The ASUS P8Z77-V LX looks good. But feature/performance wise is it good compared to the Pro? The price differenc is pulling me to the LX now.

I need a SSD with good performance, especially sequential reads. I would be reading a lot of data from the disk which would normally be GBs worth sequential reads.
Was looking at Corsair GT Series 5 F-90 120gb - $135, but I have seen some complaints against this. The intel 520 on the other hand is slightly more expensive, and for the same perf as the Corsair one it's heavy on the $

The Ram I've thought of going for the 2133 Corsair Vengeance or is it overkill and the 1833 sufficient. The timing for the Corsair one is 9-11-10-30 which I might lower later, so I will be OC'ing.

So the somewhat finalized setup

Ivy Bridge i7 3770k - 319
Asus P8Z77-V LX Versus Asus P8Z77-V Pro - 135 Vs 225 - Difference of $90
Corsair Vengeance 2 x 4GB 2133 OR ? - 89
Cooler Mater Hyper 212 EVO - 30 (from amazon)
Corsair Carbide Series 400R - 99
Corsair TX750 v2 OR ? - 105
SSD ? - ?

Total sum - 777 with LX and 867 with PRO

The only question marks are SSD, mobo, PSU. The LX looks very tempting now with $90 save. Can pump in $ for a good SSD and a HDD with the remaining change and still stay below the 1000 mark

Do note I will be overclocking and also sticking a gtx 680 later on.

400r has the simple looks that I wanted, and the ability to fit in those SSDs without the adapters is a plus point.

Any suggestions on a good case that has a similar budget(< $100)

@ opalarrow

Thanks. Crucial m4 it is.

Ivy Bridge i7 3770k - 319
Asus P8Z77-V LX Versus Asus P8Z77-V Pro - 135 Vs 225 - Difference of $90
Corsair Vengeance 2 x 4GB 2133 OR ? - 89
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO- 30 (from amazon)
Corsair Carbide Series 400R - 99
Corsair TX750 v2 OR ? - 105
Crucial m4 SSD 128GB - 120

Total sum - 897 with LX and 987 with PRO

mobo - Can someone please shed some light on the mobo? Do I need the Asus P8Z77-V PRO OR is the LX sufficient? There's very little written about LX on the internet. I am not looking at features(do need the PCI 3.0 though), but rather performance. Does the LX not perform as well as the PRO?

ram - slightly confused here as well.

Should I go for higher clock or lower timing? And it also needs to go well with the Z77
