Hello,

I want to order the following PC from ASUS and I have the option to install either the nVIDIA GTX560Ti (2GB DDR5 ) or nVIDIA Quadro 2000 (1 GB DDR5).

I will use this PC mainly for using Google sketchup and vedio rendering and generating of 3D models.

The PC it self is Asus V9-P8H67E
Core i7 2600 3.4GHz up to 3.8 Max Turbo Requency.
H67 Intel Chipset.
8 GB DDR3 PC1333.
128 SSD HDD for OS.
1 TB 7200 for Data.
Two LED Samsung Full HD 23inch screens.

Which one should I buy ? I used to use my laptop which is equipped with Core i7 740QM and ATI HD 5730 2GB Vram but the performance was not good at all .

please advice mates

Well,

gtx 560ti quadro 2000
384 shaders 192 shaders
2GB GDDR5 1GB GDDR5
256-bit 128-bit
128 GB/s 41.6 GB/s

and they say that the quadro's max power consumption is 62w, whereas the 560ti requires a minimum of 170w. But I highly doubt that you'll be looking to save power with that rig :D

EDIT: And the quadro costs almost twice what the 560ti does.

The drivers for the quadro are optimized for 3d modeling/rendering while the drivers for the 560ti are meant for gaming. You cannot compare numbers across the board like auntarie did.

If you do not plan on any gaming, go with the quadro.

My bad there, I didn't know the quadro had better drivers for rendering and modeling. But even still, I don't know how much they help. I mean, it costs ~$430. That just seems too much. But if you have the budget, go ahead.

dear thanx for your reply , I will not use it for gaming at all and the budget is not an issue .
but please what about the extra 1 GB in the 560 ? is the ATI Radeon HD 5870 X2 good for me ? and what do you think fo the PC specs overall.

thanx in advance mate.

Maybe you want to test the times in a pc with a ti and a quadro so you can compare.
If you use cuda with those softwares or can u check ati option?
Also do they require you to load all on Vram or doesnt matter?
Somer ender engines need to load all on the Vram other ones doesnt.

I have a 3Gb GTX 580 i can spare for researching porpuses

I see you use 2led ... that requires more vram if you plan on render while you are running your desketop it will suck more Videoram...

Feel free to drop me a message. Have a nice day
