E525 backlight keeps turning off laptop

I have an Acer eMachine E525. the backlight has developed an intermittent problem and feeps turning off. It will restart with Fn F6 after pressing them twice. however it sometimes goes off again within a few seconds. I have tried setting the power management to never off on both battery and on ac power but the problem keeps happening.
