Graphics cards 512 DDR3 vs 1GB DDR5...Worth it?

I'm building a computer and cannot decide which graphics card is a better medium between price and quality.

I know this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
is better than this one: http://www.frys.com/product/6202160?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN...

But the second one is just so much cheaper, and only at the expense of half a gig of dedicated RAM, and really, do I need that much?

The budget is $600 or so (it's a mid-level gaming computer.)

Wanting to play BF3 Ultra, if at all possible, with no lag.

Thanks.

Its GDDR5 vs GDDR3. 5 is about twice as fast, if you want do ANY gaming, GDDR5 is a MUST.

BF3 on ultra needs 1.5GB VRAM and a more powerful GPU anyways.

The 5450 is not a gaming gpu, the 6770 is. Even on low res you wont get ultra with the 6770, The 6870 might do it

Okay so definitely not the cheap one...I was kinda hoping to strike a deal with that.

Will the 6770 be able to at least do...say high and not lag on BF3?

If not, is there any other in that price range that will? I'm trying not to go above $110 for this build...

On a side note, curious what you guys think of this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
That's in my current build (the one I'm building right now is for a friend.)

Sorry I meant 560...they look the same in the picture :p

Is the 560ti a lot better than the 6770? Because it runs Skyrim on max settings for me :)  If they're comparable to each other, I'll definitely get the 6770 for this build.

The 6770 wasnt there so i used the 5770 which is virtually the same to comapre, as you will the see the 560ti is the clear winner

Wow the stats on the Radeon are technically better than the NVIDIA but the NVIDIA out performs it in almost everything...of course this is minimum frame rate so would you agree that 29 frames on Ultra BF3 for the Radeon would be an acceptable medium between cost and quality? I don't believe 29 frames is laggy at all...?

Personally i dont like aything below 45, some wont play unless its 60, If you can find the extra cash go for the 560 is no then the 6770 will be ok
