Looking to build this as soon as possible. I researched most of these parts in March and left them in my Newegg wishlist until I got the money together to make the purchase. I want to make sure everything is compatible and there isn't anything that I'm overspending on unnecessarily. Or something new that came out recently that might be a better choice. Any assistance/advice is very much appreciated. Thank you!
Approximate Purchase Date: Next week, as soon as possible.
Budget Range: $1200 - $1500 / After Rebates (not including monitor)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: All three equally important... Gaming, Photography/Graphic Editing, and Music Notation software (Sibelius/Garageband).
Parts Not Required: Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers, Operating system
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, TigerDirect (or any websites with easy return policies)
Country: USA
Parts Preferences: I would like to stick with Intel/NVIDIA and will be using a 24" LED monitor.
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI / Crossfire: Maybe
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 or better (I was looking at the: ASUS ML248H 24-Inch 1920x1080 LED Monitor, but can't seem to find it available "new" anywhere, so I'll be looking for something comparable).
Additional Comments: I'd like to be able to upgrade over the next few years, possibly add more RAM for future video editing. Open to any and all suggestions. Nothing is set in stone.

Optical Drive: Would love suggestions, I don't think I need a bluray, just a standard DVD read/write.
Sound Card: I assume I probably don't need one, but would like to get some suggestions anyway. I will be using a few music/composing programs. Would that put undue pressure on the motherboard without an additional sound card?
