I have an opportunity to purchase a retail boxed Teac 516eb 16x10x40 CDRW for $99.00.

Are there any known issues/incompatibilities with the Teac line, or this model in particular?

I have been "burned" by Acer with their 8x4x32, and would like to avoid another lemon product. Acer's phone support was top notch. Too bad their product wasn't.

Teac burners are great, I love their quality...
the only bad side is that they don't support a wide range of writing modes like plextor burners for exampe.
by writing modes I mean RAW support, Overburning, Cd-text etc, which in some situations will be necessary if you are trying to copy something that is copy-protected (because you wanted to make a backup of it, right? ;-)
