Using second slot for graphics card

i'm using an asus crosshair v formula mobo, and i just fried my network card.

as i didnt have any extras, i ordered a new one on newegg, which uses pci-e x1. (my previous card was just plain pci)

now, my video card, being in the first slot, happens to block the small pci-e x1 slot. is it possible for me to just use the second slot as an alternative without issue?

Should be able to. The pins should match the card, all the extra connectors are for a larger bandwidth that the graphics card needs
  2. Ah ok. Thanks!
