X2 5000 if you can find one will be $340
on the 27th it will be $320
Core 2s will launch at normal prices plus 21-30% inflated prices.

Woooops.... yields must have taken a hit.... 702 bucks is amost the same as an FX-62.... Supply being tight on the 2.6 GHz parts, hmmmmm could that be forcing the price?

That is it!! This will also likely happen to Core 2 Duo, as supply is tight for the few weeks maybe months after release the prices will fluctuate upward for a while --- Anand did a good commentary on this at the time.

i think that, as stock of processors bought before the price drop goes down, the overall prices will drop. This will probably take a week or two to see the expected price drops because vendors are trying to minimize losses.
