Hi.
Can anyone tell me how to set my virtual memory up so I can get maxumum performance from my machine. I do a lot of Cad and graphics on my system. I'm running NT 4.0 SP 6A i HAVE 256 MEGS OF RAM.

This is the way I have it set up now.

VIRTUAL MEMORY

intial size = 256
max size = 256

TOTAL PAGEING FILE SIZE FOR C DRIVE
min = 2megs
recomended = 267megs
currntly allocated = 256megs

REGISTRY SIZE

current = 18 megs
max registry size =48

Thanks for the help

you might give this handy utility a go.

<A HREF="http://www.tweakfiles.com/drives/voptme.html" target="_new">http://www.tweakfiles.com/drives/voptme.html</A>

It has settings for optimizing your virtual memory and even alocates it to the very begining of the drive ( where transfer rate is at its peak) to be honest i have not yet tried it on NT but it works great in win9x. Also, its defrag is light years faster than anything M$ uses.

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!
