I got a Panasonic FZ5 a few days ago. Right now I'm taking a few test
shots, and doing the RTFM routine on the manual. There are modes for
daytime and nighttime scenery shooting. I figure that I can achieve the
same or better for daytime shots by...
- selecting aperture priority mode
- cranking the the aperture wide open (F2.8)
- selecting ISO 80
- letting the camera set the shutter speed
- put on a polarizing filter
Have I got the correct logic here? If I remove the filter, and use a
tripod, that should handle nighttime scenery shooting as well? If my
targets are more than 5 metres distant, can I simply focus at a distant
object and get everything that isn't too close without having to worry
about focus?
