Windows 8 "Cannot be installed to this disk."

I'm trying to install windows 8 to my newly built PC but I'm getting an error message. Everything is hooked up properly and the hard disk shows up but its saying:

'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.'

I have a seagate 1tb hdd and my motherboard is a asrock 990fx extreme3.

More about windows cannot installed disk
  1. By the way, I have my boot priorities set for dvd boot first and hdd second to install windows. How else do I need to setup my BIOS to install windows onto the hdd though?
  2. This problem occurs because Windows cannot distinguish between ambiguous hard disks. If you have two hard drives, remove the second hard drive and continue with the installation.

Delete whatever partition is on the hard disk and retry.
