Gonna wait till September and get a 4600 and 4200 then wait out the storm until something better comes (from AMD). The cost of going to AM2 just isn't worth it for the minimal performace gain and I can't go back to Intel after the consistant hassles their support reps put you through just to get a retail cpu replaced. (unless AMD buys ATI).
I'll put the extra cash into other upgrades, like 21" LCD, Klipsch 5.1's, TV cards w/hardware encoding that sorta thing. Just makes more sense to me right now especially with the price cuts supposedly coming. It'd cost me over $1500.00 just to upgrade half the comps in the house, with 3 cpu's, 3 nforce5 boards and ddr2 for each. Yes there is Conroe but after experiencing intel's support I'd sooner shave with a cheese grater than buy anything intel.

Ahh this is nice, just in time for my switch to PCI-e as well. 160 bucks for 3800x2, hard to beat. I love waiting for stuff like this and not jumping on the "omg new stuff buy it now" wagon.

If X2 3800+ goes for $150 in the market, I wonder how low it'll go on Ebay. At the moment lowest buyout for X2 3800+ is $199
