1.before i buy i wanna know if i should wait and there'll be a better one soon to come in 6months.

alsolooking atthe socket 2011 i noticed it's older sandy bridge 32nm tech so im posed to get the newer tech socket 1155 a core i7 serioes from them.

why is the 2011swocket old when its spose to be faster..

also my main question is is the core i7 socket 1155 overclockable? or is it locked or somthin

1. if you keep waiting for the next tech to come out you'll never spend your money, there's always something around the corner.

2. lga2011 is not any faster, it's wider. 4 memory channels, 40 PCIe lanes, upto 6 processor cores (3930K and 3960x are both 6 core processors), it's also great for triple/quad SLi/Crossfire setups. lga1155 is basically a cut down version for the masses/mainstream. It's cheaper but not any less potent. Whether you go for lga2011 Sandy Bridge-e, lga1155 Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge you'll be getting great tech but you're wasting you're money if you buy lga2011 just for gaming and with no more than a couple of graphics cards.

3. all of the intel preocessors ending with a K or X (i5 and i7) can be overclocked but can only be done on certain boards, mainly boards with the P67/Z68/P77/Z77 chipsets. Avoid the H61/H67/H77 boards.
