Hello, I know some stuff about computers and I am totally new to building them. I am looking for something that isn't too flashy but can outperform the new Alienware x51 i7's. I have some friends that can build me a computer setup but was wondering if the community here could toss some ideas around. The computer would mostly be playing Guild Wars 2(when it comes out), Diablo 3, BF3 maybe, Sim City(New Game of it), far cry 3. Im not looking for top notch H*lyshit computer that will break bank but a nice one that will get the job done then some.

Total price: 1300$

20$ promotional gift card

There ya go :D SSD as well. Let me explain myself here (for the build).
You get to use PICe-3.0 to it's full advantage because you get
-latest Graphics card
-Ivy bridge,
-motherboard that has PICe 3.0 slots.
Now you don't need 16gbs of ram you're not coding or anything. 8gb of ram if MORE than enough for your use.
and i5 3550k is MORE than enough for what you're doing, gaming.
The ASrock motherboard's perks like the 555 will let you get maximum internet speed so you'll be surfing fast and streaming faster than ever. It also has UEFI bios you can use your mouse and keyboard to change settings in bios. With this method and motherboard overclocking will be EASY so i recommend overclocking.

Not only that with the i5 3550k you'll have major headroom for over clocking. OZC PSU is a very good one at that and will support your whole system.

The case is amazing I have it. You can upgrade to water cooling, wire go behind the case so you can't see the wires. You can see your parts from the side, nice look. Very nice blue LEDs (4 fans). Tools free case.

You get a monitor, and SSD, and an after market cooler so you can over clock. Any questions ask away. Good luck let me know how it runs.

Btw, you'll be able to run any game at max with this build.
This build is cheaper and better in ways :D.

Here's your holyshit build. It performs like holy *** and looks like holy ***. It's 1300$ AND it gives you an OS system so you won't need to torrent or stuff. It'll game anything highest resolution. It also has a monitor. You can take out the monitor and the OS if you want to go cheaper. It comes with an SSD. Good luck!

Approximate Purchase Date: Hopefully Mid June, I have to get starting on work before I feel comfortable dropping that amount of cash.

Budget Range: 1190-1390$$

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Artwork with my Wacom Tablet, Gaming, Movie/Tv show watching(online no need for tv tuner)

Parts Not Required: Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Not sure, I know there are several sites and at the moment I have been browsing Newegg.com as well as going to actual company websites for a list of retailers of their parts to try and find a good deal.

Country: United States

Parts Preferences: Not sure what is better AMD or Nvidia for Graphics card/ and I hate to let this snowball but Intel vs AMD, I keep hearing AMD is better for games but Intel has faster speeds...

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Yes

Monitor Resolution: My tv is a Sony bravia HD 1080p

Additional Comments: I know on this budget its kind of hard to future proof it but I am looking for a rig that could get me where I want to be, Full tower Cases are nice because of the room for upgrades, would like to have something that takes up less space in a dorm room however for fall.

I feel as if I read this build before on other peoples forums, it looks awfully familiar. But thank you for your input. I will need the OS as well, monitor no. I can't see the products with the links you posted.

It's best to start these threads a week or even less before you plan on purchasing due to price changes and availability. With that said...

That case is pretty snazzy and looks like it had a great amount of room for upgrading and such. Corsair cases I have been looking at a few as well as thermaltake and silverstone.

I tried helping someone else out before you and I just copy pasted it over since you guys have same range budget and same reasons for build (gaming).
