There's sth strange in my win2k system's monitor configuration. I previously
use "PNP monitor" as the driver, because my monitor is a "VESA DDC
compatible monitor" and should be configured as pnp to obtain its datas
automatically. After some change of hardware, the "monitor" option
disappears from the hardware list. And the monitor type showed now is
"default monitor". I just can't change the monitor's driver in "contron
panel->display->settings->advanced->monitor tab" because the preference
button there turns gray. But I'm sure there's no problem with monitor
because I can see it under win98 and Linux.
Then I found two "PNP monitor" when trying to uninstall
hardwares from "control panel->add/remove hardwares-
>uninstall->show hidden devices". I removed the two hidden
monitors along with the video card driver. Then reinstall
the driver. But the "monitor" option still does not exist(not even
in the "hidden devices" list). Neither can I reinstall the monitor
from "contron panel->add/remove hardwares" because none of the
monitor types appear in new hardware list! (They SHOULD be there!)
How can I find the pnp monitor again? Is there anything concerned with
the system's DDC feature? Thank you for any suggestions.
