Why gta 4 graphics are poor on my pc

i have p4@2.4g,1gb ram,geforce 6200 ddr2 256 MB graphics card i am able to run gta 4 but with poor graphics can any one help me

match the specs with yours.
gta 4 is a poorly ported console game. it needs 4 core cpu and 4~ gb ram to run well.
imo if you upgrade your pc to recent parts with mid range gfx card, you'll be able to run gta 4 with good graphics.

GTA is processor intensive. Your processor and motherboard need an update.

If you live near a microcenter you can get a $99 i3-2100 and a $60 Asus H61 motherboard. Then get 4GB of DDR3 1600 for $30 and a GTX 460 at around $150 on newegg. The $350-ish dollars would be worth your upgrade.

It isn't likely that he has a current generation PSU though. He really needs complete overhaul from top to bottom. When a system is that old, you aren't doing yourself any favors by salvaging any parts other than screws from the motherboard and case.

This is true. OP- What kind of power supply are you working with? Are your optical and HDD drives SATA or IDE?
