Installing and getting a printer to work with my Dell CPU

Hello, I am unable to print using a new HP officejet 4620 printer. I do not know which port I have plugged the usb cable to try to fix the problem. How can I tell which port is which?

Trace wires going to and from the printer.

What are you trying to do, install driver?

HP officejet 4620 is a PnP printer. You computer should detect it automatically and install the driver. If it doesn't you have an other problem, like bad cable, printer not powered or whatever.
