Thermal Paste

Hey guys im getting a new heat sink in a few weeks and i was wondering what is the best way to go about cleaning off old paste and applying new past?
im also looking the best paste to use and i would prefer to not have to take out my mobo and cpu to do the process...my case has a ghost plate so i wont have any trouble installing the heat sink once i apply the paste!

Most thermal paste will work fine. Artic Silver 5, IC Diamond and MX-4 are all good quaility thermal paste. What I would avoid is that thin runny white thermal paste that looks like Elmers Glue. That stuff is junk.

If you are going to use that thermal paste you would probably be better with Elmers Glue. Both are white an runny and doesn't do much for drawing heat away from the IHS.
