Am3 cpu on a am2+ board

Hello,
Can i place a am3 cpu on a am2+ board...
i want to insert AMD 3.3 GHz AM3 Phenom II 560 Processor on a GF8100 M2+ TE Ver. 6.x motherboard?

Check the Cpu list, that model is not on there, but there are Pii quads on there it will support,
you may get lucky and find it works, but I wouldn't buy it and hope

Well you should be able to do so if you flash your bios to the latest version, of course first check your Mobo's cpu support list . Anyway be aware that flashing your bios could damage your board permanently . Once I tought about doing the same but instead I moved to an am3 Asus board, and then to my current am3+, it's always good to update hardware! Regards
