Hey forum. Newbie here. I apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong area. My question involves upgrading a CPU from a fairly outdated stock PC. MY PC model is Compaq Presario RX894AA-ABA SR5013WM. Now, I did a little research and found the CPU series that my PC is compatible to upgrade with, which are:
Socket type: 775
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
Core 2 Duo E6x00
Core 2 Duo E4x00
Pentium D 9x0 Dual Core
Pentium D 8xx Dual Core
Pentium 4 6x1 series
Celeron D 3xx series
My question is could someone please tell me what would be the best option. I'm aiming to get my PC to run better with moderate gaming. Guild Wars2/Diablo3.Money is an issue but would like to aim for the best CPU I can get with my current PC. It will be a while before I can afford a complete upgrade.
