Worth upgrading??

I am running an hd 4890 currently which runs battlefield 3 really smoothly on high but I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading to a direct x 11 video card? Is there anything I would really be missing without direct x 11 capabilities?

If you want to get the best out of BF3 then you will need to upgrade, it looks amazing on a mid/high end card. What resolution do you play at and what are your pc specs?

DX11 doesn't make much of a difference in most games(furthermore,it gives you a notable performance drop),but yes there are some great cards to replace your 4890.What is your budget/system specs and what resolution do you play on ?

I don't want to spend more than 250 if possible I'm running an i7 920 oc to 3.4 ghz and 12gb ddr3 1600mhz ram powered by 750 watt psu

Also my display is only a 19 inch 1400 x 900 I think I should upgrade that too lol

(I'm lying, 1080p is where it's at for games - but I'm stuck with my monitor for a good while.)

I'd advise a $250 HD 7850 when it comes out next week. That would be a noticeable upgrade to the HD 4890, and it handles DX11 very well.

Upgrade your monitor first,then upgrade your GPU.4890 can handle all games perfectly fine on 900p
