I have a budget of £50 and I need a graphics card
I don't have time for gaming lately and I do work with 3Ds Max
My research shows that the best I can get for that £ are:
Quadro FX 380
GeForce GT 440

quadro is much older and slower but google says quadro's perform up to 10 times better in cad applications than GeForce.

What's your view on that?

Quadro graphics cards are indeed optimized for CAD. If that is your primary focus and your price point is firm, that's what I would go with. If your price range is flexible, I would step up. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of variety out there for those cards. Next step up I see starts at the Quadro 600 Series which is definitely more coin.
