RAM is causing Computer to shut off?

Hello,
I opened up my computer and saw that a stick of ram wasn't put in (which in and of itself is strange seeing that it is a BRAND NEW computer) so i plugged it in and the computer kept shutting off. so now i took it out again and now it works again. Proof is in me typing this. Thoughts?

If you just bought that computer than you should return it or use the warranty. I would try and get a new one first instead of having to use the warranty seeing as the sold you something that didn't work properly. Can i ask where you bought it from?

Warranty claim. One of the memory stick doesn't work.

That stick is probably dead hence it's causing the system trouble. Just leave it out or buy a new kit.
