Hello,
I need to buy a Laptop so I would like to know about the difference between 2nd generation and 3rd Generation Intel core i5. If you are experienced on this then please tell me which one is best as I need more steady and smooth operation and longer lasting. I have done some research on that and I found that 2nd generations is Sandy Bridge and 3rd generations is Ivy Bridge. So please let me know more about it & it's convenience.

The biggest difference between the Sandy Bridge and the Ivy Bridge cpu is the TDP.
The Sandy Bridge will have a TDP OF 95W while the Ivy Bridge will have a TDP of 77W so that makes the Ivy Bridge a lower power cpu. Lower power means less heat and so the Ivy B. cpu will do the same work a little faster and generate less heat and that makes the I.B. a better choice then the S.B. for your laptop.
