Sys fan failure

Hello,
i just finnished putting my pc in a new case, and i added a couple fans because the originals didnt fit the new chassis. so first thing when i started it up i have a black screen error message that says sys fan failure. I looked at the fan plugged in to that port it is working and well. I decided to just hook the fans to the power supply for insurance purposes, now how do i get rid of the error message it comes on every time i start me computer?

There should be an option in the bios to turn off fan warning messages.

The fan you have connected to sys_fan header should have the same number of pins as the header itself. If it doesn't the mobo may not "know" its there. Otherwise do what sooth1 suggested.
