I was looking around the graphics card market the other day and found the EVGA GTX 460 2win for $270!! Currently I have a single 6870 and since my motherboard cant handle Crossfire at 8x 8x I thought it may be a great card. the problem is I have a HAF 912 and removing the cage in it kinda restricts where I will put my 3 drives. Another thing my mother support doesn't support SLI. Does this just kill my idea or does the 360win count as one card?
Also is this worth it to go from a single 6870 to a 460 win?? I'm worried about power consumption and if my PSU will handle my cpu....
Heres my specs
2 SSD's (Ones a Vertex Plus the other is an Agility 3)
1 500gb Seagate barracuda
ASrock 970 extreme3
OCZ 750w ZT series
8gb G.Skill Ripjaws
AMD FX 8120
AMD 6870 (Sapphire)
+1 to gtx 570 gtx 460 2win is not a good upgrade from hd 6870 the gtx 570 is a good upgrade and best bang for buck or if u can afford that much then get a hd 6950 2gb and flash it to an hd 6970 that will be also good upgrade price vise at performance vise not much i think you should go with gtx 570.
this card will be good with better cooling and factory oced.
upgrade is not a waste of money you can buy new one and sell older one hd 6870 is good card for gaming in 1080p but gtx 570 is way better then that and really a great card for its price the gtx 570 can handle gaming on higher resolution then the hd 6870 if your motherboard didnt support crossfire then getting a single high end card like gtx 570 would be an good upgrade i think you should go with gtx 570 and upgrade is not a waste od money when you upgrade you got that much performance for the price so upgrade will always be better always look ahead.
the 4602win looks really tempting in reviews. It out performs even the 6970 which isn't much anymore but the resolution I play 1920-1080 on a 21.5 inch screen. I want something that will last me 3-4 years and I don't think the 6870 will do that. Will the 4602win?? Probably not
