I have a 486DX2 computer, with a Sound Blaster 16-AWE 32. The CDROM (Creative 2x)is connected to the sound card, not to the IDE like most computers. I want to change the CDROM. I try to change it with Acer 6x but it can't work because of I/O address problem. I try to make the CDROM as a slave drive but the BIOS don't recognize it. Should I change the CDROM with another Creative or can I use other brands? Or is there any other suggestions?
