But it is PCI-E 3.0, it will run backward-compatible with 2.1, 2.0 and 1.1, but NOT 1.0, so be sure that your motherboard supports at least 1.1.
You can have a bandwidth bottleneck if the speed is too low, so try to have an PCI-E 2.0 board.

I have an Asus P8Z68-VLX MOBO, i5 2500k with 16 ghzs of mem. Kington
Right now I have PNY-GTX 470 just looking for something faster.
Looking at 7950 or 7850
