Stubborn 24 Pin Cable

I recently got myself a new power supply, the Antec TruePower New 750w. However the 24pin cable doesn't seem to fit into the the motherboard slot correctly, ie. fits but doesn't stay on with the clip. I'm afraid using more force might break the motherboard as I probably broke my first one. Has anyone has problems with this PSU?

As you got it recently, them you can RMA it back to Antec -- perhaps it come with a faulty connector.

Maybe a silly question but have you tried putting the 4 pin in the 20+4 pin connector on the other side? Maybe you just have it backward?

yup, tried it both ways, and anyway the outer "bumps" slide in perfectly. It's just they don't seem to connect together enough for the clip to hold it together.

If the problem is that the male and female halves of the connectors are fully against each other, but the clip won't snap over the protrusion... try filing a bit off the 24 pin connector's clip until it slips over the protrusion.

The 24-pin connectors do not normally go in very easily. If you feel comfortable doing this, place your hand under the motherboard beneath the port and apply a little bit of force to the 24-pin connector to get it to snap into the port. Make sure that the + 4 pin is inserted in the proper way.

Can you take a picture of the 24-pin connector and the motherboard?

...and gently wiggle the connector end-to-end (long ways) as you press it in. Not front-to-back. Same with removal.
