Hello all...

I have just built a new comp and have a question about a new GPU from AMD for photo editing and some gaming... Maybe Crossfire down the road. I'm more interested in Photoshop than gaming at the moment but see some future gaming...

Photo Shop being the main concern...

Specs:

Coolmaster case
Antec 620watt power supply
Asus M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 Mobo
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
AMD Phenom II X6 1035T 6 core
Coolmaster Hyper TX3 CPU cooler
3 120 Coolmaster push pull cooling fans
1 140mm Coolmaster fan
1 92mm Evercool fan for Coolmaster TX3
Asus 24x DVD burner

My GPU is a NVIDIA EVGA 01G-P3-1441-KR GeForce GT 440 1024MB (Fermi) DUAL DVI PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card

Photo Shop CS5 Master collection
Windows 7 64bit

I'm so confused about this purchase... I'm pulling my hair out!!! I would love if CS5 was as fast as possible.

This is the card I have been thinking about getting and want to be close to 100% sure...

HIS IceQ X Turbo H685QNT1GD Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16

In advance... Thank you for the help!!!

Solution
It's pretty simple. The second number determines the performance, but the 550ti isn't exactly a great GPU. The Radeon 6850 would be considered a big improvement to the 440.

I have decided to upgrade to a Nvidia EVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5

Now that should be a nice upgrade right?
